Christopher D. Bachtel, MBA, CPA

Christopher D. Bachtel, MBA, CPA provides financial consulting and controllership services, income and payroll tax preparation, general business planning and tax research for closely-held, family owned businesses and their owners. In addition to these services, Chris also:

  • Advises clients with business decisions, including entity choice, long-range tax planning, fixed-asset management and financing, and accounts payable and debt management.
  • Represents clients in federal and state tax audits and appeals.
  • Assists /teaches small business owners QuickBooks and Peachtree data entry, reconciliations, and general ledger balancing.
  • Provides individual income tax planning and preparation, and controller services to both individuals and business clients, as needed.

Chris graduated from the University of Notre Dame, earning his BA in 1993, and his MBA in 1996. Chris began his 15-year public accounting career in Indianapolis working for KPMG in their federal tax department. There, Chris was charged with the professional development of the department’s staff while managing all client-related tax activities, including all tax filing and compliance deadlines, tax research, business planning, and tax-audit representation. Chris returned to Northern Indiana in April 1999, continuing his career at both large and small accounting firms located in Indiana and Michigan. In February 2011, Chris brought his experiences to Metzger, Mancini & Lackner, CPAs.
